System Architecture Considerations

The following are considerations and questions which should be addressed prior to the implementation of Visitor Central:

  • For high performance and increased response time, the following recommendations apply when implementing Enterprise (appointment-based) and Administrative clients: should the latency between these clients and the Visitor Central server exceed 50 ms, it is recommended that the server be placed on the same physical network as the clients
  • Will the customer integrate Visitor Central with Picture Perfect 2.0, 4.0 or Secure Perfect 6.1.1?
  • What is the number of stations; will the system be used for walk-ins (non-appointment), appointments, or both?
  • Will the customer require drivers license scanning?
  • Will the customer use technology badges?
  • What hardware does the customer require?
Recommended peripherals include: PC with touch-screen monitor, printer, drivers license scanner, camera, and, as needed, proximity reader
