Audio Tones and What They Mean
Audio tones are sounds the key makes to indicate the status of an operation.
They alert when an operation has been performed successfully or unsuccessfully.
There are six audio tones on a key:
One beep: Buttons have been pressed on the keypad. The beep sounds each
time a button is pressed on the keypad.
Two beeps: A code sequence on the keypad has been entered.
Four beeps: The key function is complete.
Eight quick beeps: The DisplayKEY is searching for a KeyBox.
Several long beeps: A communication link error between a KeyBox and a DisplayKEY occurred.
One buzz: An incorrect code has been entered, or an incorrect code has been entered
10 consecutive times within a 10-minute period and the key is in timeout (or lockout).
After 10 minutes, the key self-activates and is ready for use.
Two buzzes: The battery is low and need charging.
Three buzzes: The key has shut down and is no longer usable. This happens if there is an
error in the programming inside the key. The key might need to be reprogrammed or replaced.
Note:If your DisplayKEY no longer makes tones when you are using it, contact
support
for authorization to replace it.
