Error 8098 or 8099

These errors mean that your device has failed to connect to the server or authenticate to the KIM server after connecting

Reset the Palm handheld or Smartphone

  1. Perform a soft reset
  2. Try a manual eSYNC

Check Access to the Web

  1. Tap Web and navigate to www.purple.com and you should get a plain purple screen.
  2. If successful, tap eSYNC, then tap Update Key
  3. If you are not able to get www.purple.com after a couple tries, contact your cell phone provider for help getting on the web.
  4. If you update by eSYNCing through a computer, check to see if your palm or smartphone can hotsync with the computer. If not you will need to get that fixed before you can eSYNC.
  5. If you can hotsync successfully but still can't eSYNC, open internet explorer on your computer and see if you can get to a web site that you haven't visited recently.
  6. If you can't get to a web site contact your internet service provider for help with connecting to the web.

Reauthorize your eKEY

  • Obtain and enter an authorization code from KIM Web.
  • Check your key status

  • Check your billing billing status

  • Email the webmaster with suggestions.
