06/11/2009 09014 TX Series - Field Notes Bulletin
We received a customer report that TX-6010-01-1 wireless smoke alarms were initially testing correctly using aerosol test smoke, but were then sending CleanMe signals to the control panel, warning that they were overly sensitive.
The CleanMe signal is interpreted by our panels in different ways. NetworX panels show a zone trouble, but the event log displays a specific CleanMe trouble. Simon panels announce a sensor tamper signal, while Concord panels post a zone trouble.

11/19/2007 Simon 3, Versions 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3, Swinger Shutdown
GE Security has determined that there is an inconsistency between the way that Simon 3's installation manual describes how swinger shutdown is applied to group 26 fire zones and the way that the panel actually operates. As of date code 07316 (November 12, 2007), we have been manufacturing Simon 3, version 4.4 that operates as described in the installation manual.
Please read the attached Customer Bulletin for more details.
10/09/2007 NX-591E-GSM-RP replacement cell backup radios shipped with improper programming.
We recently learned that some of our NX-591E-GSM-RP digital replacement cell backup radio modules have shipped with incorrect programming. A list of affected serial numbers is provided in the Customer Bulletin.
NX-591E-GSM radios for new installations are not affected.
07/17/2007 GE Security Announces Digital Cell Backup for Networx
GE Security is pleased to announce the August 1, 2007 arrival of our digital cell backup radio for Networx. Two models are offered: the NX-591E-GSM for new installations, and the NX-591E-GSM-RP that is used exclusively to replace an NX-591E analog module.
GE Security recently placed the Allegro family of products on engineering hold while we obtain replacements for a critical component that did not meet our specifications. We anticipate the hold to remain in effect until later in May. At that time, we will fill back orders first and then fill new orders.

GE Security has found an issue with Simon 3 revision 4.2 controls whereby the automatic (VOX) mode capability of the unit may not function as intended; however, the manual Push to Talk mode continues to work properly.
03/01/2007 Important Daylight Saving Time Information for Concord, Simon, Advent, Allegro and CareGard Control Panels
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 changes the starting and ending dates for Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the United States and Canada. Beginning this year, daylight saving time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Changes must be made in certain security systems from GE Security to support the 2007 daylight saving time changes. We are providing the following technical bulletin to address the support issues.

02/12/2007 Concord/ Telular analog cell back-up radio discontinued
The cell provider for the Concord 60-850 cell back-up radio, Telular, announced that it will no longer allow any new analog cell back up radios to be enrolled on their system. This caused GE Security to discontinue the radio.
02/09/2007 NetworX NX-320E/ 320-I Power Supply Bulletin
We have identified an issue with the NX-320E and the NX-320-I (international) power supplies made from mid-December, 2006 through late January, 2007. The customer bulletin explains the issues, presents the solutions, and provides contact information.
GE Security put our Concord Express alarm panels on shipping hold, from the beginning of December, 2006, until January 22, 2007, while we investigated reports that a small number of panels were found in a powered down state. Our conclusion is that a small percentage of Concord Express panels may spontaneously power down in the presence of electromagnetic interference (EMI) if the panels are not properly grounded.
01/08/2007 Concord 4 with External Receiver or Transceiver
GE Security is voluntarily notifying customers that Concord 4, versions 4.01 and 4.02, cannot be used with external receivers or transceivers. The problem has been corrected with the release of version 4.10.
We would like to let you know that a new firmware version is available for Legend and Legend IP that corrects an issue with a corrupt log file causing a failure during the initialization process. In a small percentage of installations we have found that a corrupt log file can cause the Legend dome to become stuck in the boot process and fail to complete the initialization process. This issue is only present in Legend and Legend IP domes running firmware versions v2.19 and v3.17.
An issue has been identified with the NX-548E 48 zone wireless receiver for NetworX panels. A Customer Bulletin describes the issue, identifies the solution, and provides corrective actions.
GE Security recently identified a low-battery issue with a small number of our wireless sensors. Only sensors with a gray "super-capacitor" are affected.
10/19/2006 1500 series Fire Panel Battery Cable Issue
GE Security is voluntarily notifying customers that we shipped a small number of 1500 series Fire Alarm Control Panels (formerly ESL) that included a battery connector with the positive and negative battery leads transposed.
08/10/2006 Osborne Hoffman OH-TCP/IP Line Card Lock Up Issues
GE Security recently identified a potential safety issue associated with the OH-TCP/IP Line Card used on the Osborne Hoffman OH2000E receiver. Due to both hardware and software issues, this Line Card may fail to receive or communicate alarm or trouble signals sent from the panel.
GE Security recently identified a potential safety risk associated with the NetworX NX-208E 2-Wire Smoke Expander Module. Modules manufactured at a new manufacturing facility may have inadvertently included an incorrect resistor. Use of the incorrect resistor may cause the module to send out an intermittent trouble signal and may cause the module to fail to detect an alarm.
GE Security recently identified a firmware issue with the NetworX NX-148E and NX-1192E keypads. These keypads were manufactured with an incorrect version of firmware that will cause the keypads to error when trying to use the DL900 download software
07/29/2005 NetworX Family Version 2 Software Issues
GE Security is voluntarily notifying customers that the NetworX family of security alarm panels manufactured with Version 2 software could experience two separate issues that will affect the performance of the panel for the end user.
GE Security of Austin, Texas, is voluntarily notifying customers that certain NetworX NX-6 Series security alarm panels will go into a fault mode when power is restored after a panel experiences a complete power loss. This fault will result in the panel’s 2-wire smoke zone not functioning correctly until the fault is cleared.
GE Security has recently identified an issue that may affect the operation of the PrecisionLine™ RCR-90 dual technology motion sensors, manufactured between September and November 2004.
GE Security has recently identified an issue that may affect the operation of the PrecisionLine™ RCR-PET dual technology motion sensors with Pet immunity.
RJ31X phone jacks included with some GE Security control panel kits have been found to be defective. A production run of these jacks were wired incorrectly at the supplier’s factory. If you have a Simon, Concord Express or Allegro kit with a manufacture date between April 21, 2004 thru June 21, 2004 you could have a defective phone jack.
GE Security is notifying all customers that Simon ® Control Panels with software version 3.6, shipped since November 1, 2003 may inadvertently delete sensors learned into the panel from memory.
Some Concord ™ Hybrid Control Panels with software version 3.0 shipped from May 26, 2003 to June 17, 2003 were accidentally produced with the wrong E 2 PROM chip installed.
GE Security is making changes to how the repair and replacement of the CS-4000 and CS-5000 Central Station Receivers sold under the ITI brand are handled.
Concord controls using software versions 2.5 and 2.51 have been identified as having an operational problem. There are two software conflicts outlined in the attached Technical Advisory.
